gives you the opportunity to start a distance learning course.





The CGL, with over twenty years of experience in the fields of:
- evaluation, as it conducts the certification exams for Greek proficiency,
- teacher training for those teaching Greek as a second/foreign language, through the award-winning and long-running “Diadromes” program, and
- teaching practice, with the series of textbooks “KLIK στα ελληνικά”,
is expanding its activities to offer distance learning courses in Modern Greek.

Learn Modern Greek with the credibility and reliability of an official public institute that:

Target group
The first phase of the program (January – August 2025) is aimed at adults who wish to learn Modern Greek without prior knowledge of the language (Beginners, Level A1, according to the CEFR).
Starting in September 2025, the courses will be expanded to include other proficiency levels and offer flexible class options to accommodate a wider range of learners.
What you need to know
March 24th to July 20th, 2025
- The course concerns exclusively Beginner Adults (Level A1, Elementary knowledge-Basic user, according to CEFR)
- Course length: 65 hours of live instruction in total (17 weeks, including holidays)
- Course time: 2 teaching unit sessions twice per week (1 teaching unit = 50 mins)

Monday and Wednesday: 11.00-13.00 (GMT+2)
Wednesday and Friday: 08.00-10.00 / 20.00-22.00(GMT+2)Note: Hours are subject to minor changes.

- Teaching method:
- Online live instruction with experienced teachers
- Asynchronous learning through cutting-edge language learning platforms and tools incorporating state-of-the-art teaching practices.
- Teaching materials: Textbook “KLIK sta ellinika A1 for Adults”, texts, videos, grammar and vocabulary sheets, games etc.
- Language of communication: Greek (immersion in target language), but also English and other languages – all our teachers are multilingual!

What you will learn
Upon completion of the Beginners course, you will be able to:
- understand and use, in speech and writing, familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type
- introduce yourselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you come from, where you live, and about people you know and things you have, you like or dislike
- interact in a simple way as long as the person you are talking to speaks slowly, clearly, and is prepared to help
- respond to simple, everyday communicative situations in topics such as home, work, family, daily routine, food, likes, dislikes, describing people, shopping and much more.
AND
- You will come into contact with various aspects of modern Greek culture
